|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Powdered sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
Melt butter in saucepan; add brown sugar.
Bring to a boil.
Boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring con- stantly.
Stir in milk; bring to a boil again, stirring constantly.
Cool to lukewarm.
Add powdered sugar gradually; beat until thick enough to spread.
May add small amount of hot water if icing becomes too soft.
Yield: Icing for one 2-layer cake.
