Best Ever Chocolate Icing

Ingredients
  Unsweetened chocolate square 2
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Scant Cup)
  Egg 1
  Icing sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
Directions

MAKING
1) In a bowl, place chocolate and butter.
2) Place the bowl over hot water to melt the ingredients.
3) Add milk, egg, icing sugar and vanilla.
4) With a large spoon, whip up the mixture.

SERVING
5) Use the filling to layer cakes and cover the top as icing.

TIPS
Place the mixture in refrigerator for a while, as it will require less beating.

This only calls for 1 cup of icing sugar, so will it be sufficient to fill and ice a 8" 2 layer cake?

Hi Edwina, this recipe would be enough only to top/frost a cake. If you want to make a layered cake and top it with the icing, you will have to double the recipe. Also make sure your cake is not very sweet or else the dessert will be too sweet.
