Maple ice cream is a frozen dessert preparation made using maple syrup and milk. A typical maple ice cream recipe includes maple syrup that is reduced over heat and combined with a thick mixture made by mixing whole milk, heavy cream and egg yolks and simmering them to achieve a custard like consistency. The maple ice cream mixture is then frozen overnight prior to serving. Maple ice cream goes very well with Pecan Pie, Tarts or Pumpkin Pie.
