Vanilla Ice Cream

What could be better than homemade Italian ice cream on a summer day? Let's learn with Sonia how to make the vanilla ice cream!
Ingredients
  Heavy cream 250 Milliliter
  White sugar 250 Gram
  Vanilla powder 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Whole milk 600 Milliliter
Directions

MAKING
1. In a saucepan, pour the milk, heavy cream, white sugar and the vanilla. Stir and bring the mixture to 185° degrees Fahrenheit (85°C).
2. Place in a bowl filled with cold water and ice, to cool it down quickly, once cooled keep it in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
3. Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and let it churn until the ice cream is thick and firm.
4. Store it in a container with lid and keep in the freezer for at least 3 hours.

SERVING
5. Serve it chilled.

TIPS
If you want to make it richer, 1 minute before stopping the ice cream maker, add some dark chocolate flakes.

The reason why the milk has to be cook at 185° degrees Fahrenheit (85°C) because to pasteurize the milk.
