Brandied Date and Walnut Sauce For Ice Cream
|Light brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs) (packed)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brandy||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dates||8 Ounce, pitted (1 package)|
|Walnut halves||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1. In a large saucepan, pour in the brown sugar with one cup water and cook while stirring occasionally over medium heat for 20 minutes till done
2. Add ¼ cup of brandy, dates and walnut halves and mix well. Let this cool till required. Store the mix in a glass or plastic container tightly covered.
3. Heat the sauce over low heat and turn into a serving dish. Add ¼ cup of brandy to the same saucepan and heat gently till vapor rises. Ignite and serve immediately over ice cream or pudding.
