Cassata Ice Cream
|Vanilla ice cream/Chocolate ice cream||2 Cup (32 tbs) (1 Recipe)|
|For cream filling|
|Icing sugar||4 Tablespoon|
|Chopped candied peel||1 Tablespoon|
|Strawberry ice cream||1 Cup (16 tbs) (1/2 Recipe)|
|Chopped glazed cherries||1 Tablespoon|
|Chopped almonds/Walnuts||1 Tablespoon|
|Ice cream essence||4 Drop (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Prepare vanilla ice-cream according to the recipe.
Add a few drops green colouring if desired.
Prepare strawberry ice cream according to the recipe or prepare any kind of fruit ice-cream, adding a few drops of strawberry essence and a few drops of red colour to the ice-cream mixture.
Chill an alluminium bowl and spread half of the vanilla ice cream on the sides and bottom of the chilled bowl.
Press ice-cream with the back of spoon.
Keep in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator till ice-cream is hard.
Then take it out from the freezer and spread strawberry ice-cream in the same manner, on the vanilla ice-cream.
Return the bowl to the freezer to harden the ice-cream.
Spread on the remaining vanilla ice-cream in the same manner and leave to harden keeping a hollow in the centre.
In the meantime prepare cream filling.
Beat chilled cream till thick.
Add rest of the ingredients.
Fill the hollow of the ice-cream bowl with this filling and cover and leave in the freezer to harden for 4 to 5 hours.
Just before serving rub the bowl with a warm towel.
Place serving plate on the ice-cream bowl and turn.
Gently lift the empty bowl.
