Tart Cherry Ice Cream

Ingredients
  Vanilla ice cream 2 Quart
  Frozen unsweetened pitted tart red cherries 1 Pound
Directions

Soften the ice cream in the refrigerator until it can be whipped with an electric beater.
Meanwhile, thaw, drain, and pat the cherries dry with paper towels.
Transfer the ice cream to a large mixing bowl.
Whip the ice cream on low until smooth.
Fold in the cherries.
Transfer the ice cream to a covered freezer container.
Freeze for several hours before serving.
If the ice cream becomes solid, soften it slightly in the refrigerator before serving.
