On a recent trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme park in Orlando, FL, they were serving one of these Truffle Macaroni and Cheese Bacon Hot Dogs. I thought this was an amazing dish, and here is my recreation of this dish.
Elbow macaroni | 8 Ounce (cooked according to the package direction)
American cheese | 8 Ounce
Half and half/Heavy cream | 4 Ounce (3 to 4 ounces)
Truffle oil | 1/2 Teaspoon
Bacon slices | 8 (cooked crispy and crumbled into small pieces)
Hot dogs | 8 | |
Hot dog buns | 8 |
MAKING
1. In a small pot, heat together American cheese, and half and half, stir continually until sauce a smooth and creamy texture.
2. Add in the truffle oil into the cheese sauce.
3. Add in macaroni to the sauce and stir well.
FINALIZING
4. Cook or warm hot dogs. Place hot dogs into buns, and then spoon a couple of tablespoons of macaroni and cheese over hot dogs. Add crumbled bacon on top of macaroni and cheese.
SERVING
5. Serve the hot dogs with some crispy potatoes.
