Cornmeal Coated Franks

  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Yellow cornmeal 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Frankfurters 1 Pound
  Cooking oil 4 Tablespoon
  Catsup 4 Tablespoon
  Prepared mustard 4 Tablespoon

In a bowl mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in shortening till mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Mix egg and milk.
Add to dry mixture; mix well.
Insert wooden skewer in end of frankfurters.
Pour oil into skillet to depth of 1 inch; heat to 375°.
Coat franks with batter.
Brown in hot oil 3 to 4 minutes.
