Turnips Glazed With Honey And Lemon
|Turnips/1 medium size rutabaga||2 Large, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes|
|Unsalted margarine||1 Tablespoon|
|Grated lemon rind||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Black pepper/White pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
In a medium size heavy saucepan over moderate heat, bring 1 1/4 cups unsalted water to a boil.
Add the turnips and cook, covered, for 15 to 20 minutes or until fork tender.
Add the honey, margarine, lemon rind, and pepper to the drained turnips in the saucepan.
Warm, uncovered, over low heat, shaking the pan gently, for 2 to 3 minutes or until the margarine has melted and the turnips are lightly glazed.
