Cheddar Cheese Sticks
|Sifted all purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sharp american cheddar cheese||6 Ounce, shredded (1 1/2 Cups)|
|Water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Sift dry ingredients.
Cut in 1/2 cup butter.
Add cheese and mix well; then add enough water to hold ingredients together.
Roll out on floured board to rectangle 14 x 8 inches.
Dot with 2 tablespoons butter; fold corners into center.
Roll out again, dot with 2 tablespoons more butter; fold again.
Wrap in wax paper and chill for about 30 minutes.
Roll out 1/4 inch thick.
With pastry wheel, cut into scalloped strips 1/2 x 4 inches.
Put on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for 8 to 10 minutes.
