Ceja Style Hamburgers with Amelia Ceja

It's summertime at Ceja Vineyards and the gang likes to grill hearty burgers Latino style. Amelia showcases her tasty burger recipe and perfectly pairs this summer dish with Ceja Vineyards' Vino de Casa Red Blend.


Ground beef 3 Pound (Ground Tri Tip)
Chipotle pepper in adobe sauce 2 Medium
Onion 1 Large , shredded
Garlic cloves 8 Medium , mince
Lime juice 3 Tablespoon
Jalapeno pepper 2 Tablespoon , juiced
Soy sauce 1 Tablespoon
Salt 1 Dash
Pepper 1 Dash
Pasilla peppers 5 Medium , grill
Pepperjack cheese 5 Ounce
Hamburger buns 8 Medium



1. In a bowl, add the ground tri tip, chiptle pepper in adobe sauce, onion, garlic cloves, lime juice, jalapeno pepper juice, soy sause, salt and pepper and mix well with hands.

2. Make big patties and set aside.

3. Grill the Pasilla peppers until black.

4. Then, slice the peppers and aside.

5. Brush olive oil on the grill.

6. Add the patties to the grill and cook both sides for 4-5 minutes each.

7. Add a slice of cheese to the patties just before removing from grill to melt the cheese.


8. Top the patties and cheese over one side of the hamburger bun.

9. Add a portion of the sliced, roasted pasilla peppers.

10. Add vegetables of choice(Onion, tomato and lettuce are preferred)


11. Serve while still warm.
