Hamburger With Chili And Beans

Ingredients
  Red kidney beans 1 Pound
  Water 250 Milliliter (As Required)
  Onion 1
  Salt To Taste
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped onion 2 Tablespoon
  Shortening 3 Tablespoon
  Chili powder 1 Tablespoon (Canned Mole Powder- 3 Tablespoons)
  Ground beef 2 Pound
  Tomatoes 4 , chopped (Fresh Or Canned)
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
  Bay leaf 1 Small
  Dry oregano 1 Pinch
  Tortillas 2 (As Required)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Soak beans overnight or quick-soak.
2. Drain excess water.

MAKING:
3. Add whole onion, salt, and 1 tablespoon shortening to the beans.
4. Cook beans and other ingredients in water, until beans are soft.
5. Saute chopped onion in 3 tablespoons shortening until soft.
6. Add chili powder and meat.
7. Cook until meat is no longer pink.
8. Add tomatoes and heat through.
9. Then add cornstarch mixed with a little water.
10. Add bay leaf and oregano.
11. Cook until thickened.
12. Remove bay leaf.

SERVING:
13. Serve hamburger with chili and beans, with hot tortillas.
