Barbecued Hamburgers

Ingredients
  Dry bread crumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Lean ground beef 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Yellow onions 2 Small, peeled, finely chopped
  Vegetable oil 1 Tablespoon
  Cider vinegar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chili powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dried oregano 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crumbled
  Worcestershire sauce 4 Teaspoon
  Tomatoes/1 can, 1 pound tomatoes, chopped, with their juice 3 Medium, peeled and chopped
Directions

1. In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, milk, salt, and pepper. Add the beef and half the chopped onions. Mix well and shape
the mixture into 6 patties, each about 1 inch thick
2. Heat the oil in a heavy 12-inch skillet over moderate heat for about 1 minute. Add the patties and cook, uncovered, for 2 minutes on each side. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the remaining onions, the vinegar, chili powder, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, and tomatoes. Pour the mixture over the patties and cook uncovered, for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Serve.
