Ham Steak

Ham Steak is normally a small and usable sliced piece of ham (pork), mostly from ham shank or leg. Most often ham steaks that are marketed are not cooked, so unless it is specified on the pack they need to be cooked thoroughly before eating. Ham steaks are available in both bone-in and boneless forms and mostly tend to be a little too salty, which requires them to be soaked in water before cooking. Ham steak can be cooked in a variety of ways; they can be pan-fried, broiled, grilled, glazed etc. It is also be used as a main ingredient in a number of recipes like frittatas, fried rice, scrambled egg, sandwiches etc.
