Yam And Ham Dinner For 2

Ingredients
  Yams 2 Medium
  Tenderized ham steak 1
  Butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon
  Canned pear halves 4
  Frozen asparagus spears 10 Ounce
  Honey/Corn syrup 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Pear juice 3 Tablespoon
  Processed cheese slice 3 , cut in strips
  Salt To Taste
Directions

Parboil yams 25 minutes.
Peel, and slice thickly lengthwise.
Gash fat edge of ham in several places.
Melt butter.or margarine in large covered skillet or electric frying pan.
Add ham slice and potatoes; saute 3—5 minutes over low heat; turn contents over.
Arrange pear halves on top of ham slice, and between them neatly pile asparagus.
Lightly salt vegetables, and brush potatoes with honey.
Pour pear juice around them.
Cover pan, keep heat low and cook 10—15 minutes or until asparagus is tender.
Top asparagus with cheese strips and keep covered 1 minute until cheese melts
