Veal Chops with Ham and Cheese
|Veal chops||4 , trimmed|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1|
|Egg||2 , beaten|
|Fine dried breadcrumbs||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Butter||2 Ounce (50 Gram Or 1/2 Stick)|
|Thin ham slices||4 (Preferably Prosciutto)|
|Fontina cheese slices||4|
Lightly pound veal chops, and season with salt and pepper.
Dust with flour, then dip into beaten egg.
Coat each chop generously with breadcrumbs.
Heat butter in a large frying pan, and cook chops until they are golden brown on both sides.
Transfer to a heatproof dish, and lay a piece of ham and a slice of cheese on each.
Place dish under a hot grill, and cook until cheese begins to melt and bubble.
