Spaetzle Baked With Ham

Ingredients
  Butter 4 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Medium, chopped
  Fresh white mushrooms 6 Medium, sliced
  Sherry 2 Tablespoon
  Spaetzle 2 Cup (32 tbs), cooked, drained
  Westphalian ham slices/Prosciutto / a good boiled ham slices 8 , cut into 2-inch squares (Thin Slices)
  Breadcrumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), mixed with 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  Melted butter 2 Tablespoon (Mixed With Bread Crumbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

In a frypan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
Add the onion and cook until soft.
Add the remaining butter and the mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes.
Stir in the sherry, and season with salt and pepper.
In a buttered baking dish, arrange a layer of spaetzle, and spoon over it one-half of the mushrooms and onion mixture.
Arrange the ham squares over the mushrooms and onions, and layer with the remaining spaetzle; spoon the remaining mushroom and onion mixture over that.
Sprinkle the dish with the buttered breadcrumbs and place it in a preheated 400-degree oven for 30 minutes, or until heated through and the crumbs are brown.
