Boiled Ham Dinner's picture
  Pickled shoulder/Cottage roll 4 Pound (sweet)
  Cold water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (to cover)
  Bay leaf 1
  Turnip 1 Small, peeled and cut in 8 pieces
  Peeled potatoes 8 Small
  Peeled onions 8 Small
  Peeled carrots 8 Small
  Parsnips 2 , peeled and cut in 8 pieces

Cover pork with cold water and bring to a boil.
Drain and add 3 cups warm water, or enough to half cover the meat.
Add bay leaf and cover the pan.
Simmer for 2 1/2 hours or until almost tender.
Add turnip; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Add remaining vegetables; cover and simmer until both meat and vegetables are tender about 20 minutes.
Arrange meat and vegetables on a hot platter.
Dress vegetables with melted butter and chopped parsley.
