Nut Glazed Ham
|Tenderized ready to eat ham||12 Pound (1 Piece)|
|Ground cloves||1 Teaspoon|
|Honey||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Peanut butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dry bread crumbs||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Whole pecans||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Maraschino cherries||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Score the fat surface of the ham in large diamonds; or press a fancy cooky cutter into the fat to make a uniform pattern of hearts, stars or circles.
Sprinkle with the cloves, then spread with a mixture of honey, peanut butter and crumbs.
Place ham in large bake pan and heat slowly at 325F for 15 minutes per pound, or until a meat thermometer registers 130F internal temperature.
Heat may be increased to 350F for the last 1/2 hour to brown the glaze more quickly.
Press pecans and cherries into surface of ham here and there, according to the scored pattern.
Transfer to hot platter; garnish with water cress, pineapple slices.
