Ham & Cheese Sandwich Loaf
|Sourdough bread loaf||1|
|Sliced mushrooms||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Green pepper||1 Medium, cut into strips|
|Sweet red pepper||1 Medium, cut into strips|
|Celery rib||1 , sliced|
|Green onions||3 , sliced|
|Olive oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Mayonnaise||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Italian seasoning||2 Teaspoon|
|Deli ham||1 Pound, shaved|
|Shredded colby cheese||4 Ounce (1 Cup)|
|Shredded part skim mozzarella cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cut bread in half horizontally.
Hollow out the top and bottom halves, leaving 1/2-in. shells.
In a large skillet, saute mushrooms, peppers, celery and onions in oil until tender.
Remove from the heat; set aside.
Combine mayonnaise, Italian seasoning and pepper; spread over bread.
On the bread bottom, layer half of the ham, vegetable mixture and cheeses.
Repeat layers, gently pressing down if needed.
Replace the bread top.
Wrap tightly in heavy-duty foil.
Bake at 400° or grill, covered, over medium heat for 30-35 minutes or until heated through.
Cut into wedges with a serrated knife.
