Ham Steaks With Artichoke Puree
|Ham steaks||1 (4.5 Inch)|
|Unsalted butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted|
|For artichoke puree|
|Canned artichoke hearts||8|
|Lemon||1⁄2 , juiced|
|Creamy mashed potatoes||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Pistachio butter/1 tablespoon finely chopped pistachio nuts||1 Tablespoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
To make the puree, place artichoke hearts, lemon juice, mashed potatoes, pistachio butter, salt, black pepper and nutmeg in a blender or food processor.
Process until pureed.
Transfer to a small saucepan and place over low heat while ham is cooking.
Brush the ham with melted butter and grill over medium-hot coals until heated and cooked through.
About 2 to 3 minutes each side should be sufficient.
