Green Beans With Ham
|Dried green beans||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Boiling water||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped celery||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Diced cooked ham||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Reconstitute dried green beans in 2 1/2 cups boiling water.
Let stand about 1 hour.
In a large sauce pot, melt butter, saute onions and celery until soft; do not brown.
Add ham and heat gently for 2-3 minutes.
Add green beans and liquid.
Simmer, covered, for about 30-40 minutes.
Additional water may be added.
Season with pepper and salt if needed.
