Sweet Ham Steak
|Lean ham steak||1 Pound|
|White wine vinegar||1 Teaspoon|
|Granulated brown sugar||1 Teaspoon|
|Boiling water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cream sherry||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Rub both sides of the ham steak with vinegar and sprinkle with brown sugar replacement.
Allow to stand for 15 minutes at room temperature.
Spray a nonstick skillet with vegetable cooking spray.
Brown ham on both sides.
Add the boiling water and sherry.
Cook slowly, uncovered, until liquid has almost evaporated and ham is tender.
