Pan Braised Haddock
|Olive oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dijon mustard||1 Tablespoon|
|Cumin seeds||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Bay leaves||2 , crumbled|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Haddock/Salmon / other fish steaks||2 Pound|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), peeled and thinly sliced|
Combine the olive oil, mustard, cumin seeds, salt, bay leaves, and black pepper.
Transfer the mixture to a large frying pan over medium heat, then add the fish steaks in one layer Add the garlic slices and 3/4 cup hot water.
Cover the pan and cook over medium-low heat for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork but remains moist.
Serve with Green Pea Pilaf and a mixed salad.
