|Whole milk||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Quick cooking grits||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsalted butter||4 Tablespoon|
|Grated cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
Pour the milk into a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat and heat until bubbles appear on the edges of the pan (just before the milk is ready to boil).
Stir in the grits using a wire whisk.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover.
Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the butter and cheese and stir until melted.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
