Turkey Feta

Turkey feta dishes combine roasted, sautéed, grilled or boiled turkey meat with feta cheese in a range of combinations. Generally, the turkey may be used whole after stuffing it with fillings that include feta cheese. Turkey Meatloaf with feta and sundried tomatoes is a popular recipe by Giada De Laurentiis. The chopped turkey meat is combined with parsley, garlic, sundried tomatoes, eggs, whole milk, feta cheese, black pepper, bread crumbs and ground turkey meat. This is then baked and served warm with a fresh salad.

 

Spinach, turkey and feta burgers are an excellent way of combining the meat with vegetables for small children. Turkey meat is mixed with spinach, carrots, peas and potatoes, herbs, spices, lemon etc and then shaped into small patties. These are then baked or deep fried and served with burger buns, tomato sauce, cheese and a fresh salad.

 

One pot meals with turkey feta are an ideal way to combine rice, pasta, quinoa, and barley, bulgur with meatballs made from turkey and feta cheese. The meatballs are made by mashing together garlic, feta cheese, saltine crackers, salt, egg, tomato paste, dry red wine, herbs and prosciutto ham. These meatballs are then served on top of rice, pasta, quinoa, barley or bulgur and served with a thick tomato sauce.

 

Greek turkey feta spinach pouches are made by sautéing the turkey meat with olive oil, spinach, onions, chili flakes, oregano, mint, bell pepper, salt and pepper and then stuffed into a shell made with phyllo pastry. Sesame seeds are sprinkled on top and the packages are baked or deepfried till done.

 

Roast turkey with feta and bacon is a wonderful dish. The turkey is seasoned with salt, pepper, chili flakes, lemons, sage, butter and water and then stuffed with a feta, bacon, red onion, sage, bread and beef stock filling.

 

Turkey, feta salad is a simple summer dish that may be made with leftover roasted turkey meat or cold turkey cuts of meat. The turkey meat is tossed with celery, black olives, curly endive, watercress and cucumbers. A dressing made from feta cheese, cold cream, pepper, lemon juice, safflower oil and basil is poured on top of the salad and served cold. The same cold salad may also be used as a filling in sandwiches. Along with the salad, other ingredients like sliced avocado, balsamic peppers and onions are added to the sandwich according to taste.
