|All purpose flour||3 Cup (48 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Unsalted butter||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Anise flavoring||1 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Whipping cream||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Egg yolk||1 , beaten (For Brushing)|
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
Cream butter with anise flavoring until fluffy.
Add sugar and beat thoroughly.
Add egg and beat well.
Pour in whipping cream; mix thoroughly.
Stir in flour mixture.
Knead dough on a floured board until shiny.
Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.
Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before rolling and baking.
Break off a small amount of dough and roll on a board to form a strip 5 to 6 inches long.
Shape into a ring by joining the ends, or make into a snail shape by winding up the strip.
Place on a greased cookie sheet.
Brush with egg yolk.
Bake at 350Â°F 20 to 25 minutes, or until done.
