Ingredients
  Soft sweet butter/Margarine 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Icing sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), sifted
  Egg yolk 1
  Brandy 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Cake flour 4 1⁄2 Cup (72 tbs), sifted twice
  Whole cloves 48
Directions

Cream butter or margarine well; gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, then egg yolk, creaming well.
Add brandy.
Gradually work in flour to make soft dough.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Shape dough into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Stud each with a clove.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet, in preheated 350 °F. oven, until they turn pale gold.
Cool well on racks, and sift icing sugar generously over them.
Makes about 48.
