Cream butter or margarine well; gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, then egg yolk, creaming well.
Gradually work in flour to make soft dough.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Shape dough into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Stud each with a clove.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet, in preheated 350 Ã‚Â°F. oven, until they turn pale gold.
Cool well on racks, and sift icing sugar generously over them.
