Greek Meat Sauce

Ingredients
  Onions 3 Large, finely chopped
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Lean ground beef 3 Pound
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Cinnamon stick 1
  Whole mixed pickling spices 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Canned tomato paste 12 Ounce (2 Cans Of 6 Ounce Each)
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground pepper To Taste
  Water 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
Directions

Satue onion in butter over medium-high heat until limp.
Transfer to large pot or Dutch oven.
Brown the beef and add to the onions.
Put garlic, cinnamon sticks and pickling spices in a cheesecloth bag.
Add to meat and onion mixture with tomato paste, salt, pepper and water.
Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3 hours or until flavours are blended and sauce has thickened.
