Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Eggs 3 , separated
  Uncooked farina/Wheatina 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Finely chopped walnuts 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Warm water 2 Tablespoon
  Sifted confectioners' sugar 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Preheat oven to 375° F.
Cream butter until fluffy and add sugar, a little at a time, beating well after each addition.
Beat egg yolks in, one at a time.
Stir in farina, cinnamon, and nuts.
Beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form and fold into batter.
Spread in a greased and floured 9" x 9"x2" baking pan and bake 20-25 minutes until just firm to the touch.
Meanwhile, prepare syrup: Boil sugar and water in a very small, heavy saucepan until clear and slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
Remove pan from oven, spoon syrup over top, distributing it as evenly as possible; return to oven and bake 5-10 minutes longer until mixture pulls from sides of pan.
Cool upright in pan 5 minutes on a wire rack, then loosen and turn out.
When cold, dust lightly with confectioners' sugar and cut into 16 bars.
