Greek Kourabiedes

  Butter 8 Ounce, softened (1 Cup)
  Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Egg yolks 2 Large
  Vanilla extract 2 Teaspoon
  Brandy 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Cloves 2

Beat the butter until it is light and smooth.
Add the sugar, egg yolks, vanilla and brandy and mix well.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt and stir gradually into the butter mixture until the dough forms a ball.
Cover and chill for 1 hour.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly butter 2 baking sheets.
Pinch off" teaspoon-sized pieces of dough and roll them into egg shapes or balls between your palms.
Place them on the baking sheets and insert a clove into the top of each cookie.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cookies are firm but not browned.
Remove them from the oven, cool on the baking sheets for 1 to 2 minutes and transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Repeat with the remaining dough.
