|Feta cheese||1⁄2 Pound|
|Olive oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened|
|Cream cheese||3 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Eggs||2 Small, beaten|
|Dried mint leaves||2 Tablespoon|
|Oil/Fat||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
|Pastry dough||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Combine cheese and eggs in a bowl and whip until smooth.
Add mint and mix in butter.
Set aside while making pastry.
Roll out dough on a floured board as thinly as possible.
Cut dough into 3 inch rounds.
Place 1 heaping tablespoon of filling on each round, fold over dough as in making turnovers, moisten edges, and seal.
If desired, fry in olive oil or hot fat until light brown on both sides.
Place on platter and sprinkle with sugar or dip in honey.
Or, if preferred, turnovers may be placed on an ungreased baking sheet and baked in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden, then sprinkled with sugar or dipped in honey.
