Old Fashioned Kourabiedes
|Sweet butter||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Confectioners sugar||1 Tablespoon|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Melt butter and bring to a boil.
Skim off foam and carefully pour butter from pan into a small bowl, being careful not to include the sediment in bottom of pan.
When butter is solid, remove from bowl and, using butter line as measure, add enough confectioners' sugar to come to within 1 inch of this line.
Cream butter until very light, add sugar, and beat well.
Add almond flavoring and enough flour to form a soft dough.
Shape dough with floured hands into small rounds, place on cooky sheets, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until done but still light in color.
These cookies are left unsugared.
