Hearty Onion Gravy

Onion gravy is one of its kind. This side dish is incredibly delicious. It is a highly recommended dish by my grandma.
Ingredients
  Spanish onion 1 , sliced
  Onion celery carrot broth 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1 Dash
  Black pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Fresh chives 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Dash
Directions

1. High heat the skillet.
2. Add olive oil to the skillet.
3. Add onion and sugar.
4. Lower heat, cook until caramelized.
5. Add carrot celery onion broth.
6. Add black pepper, chives, and salt.
7. Stir, simmer for 2 minutes.
8. Add sauce thickener, stir.
9. Serve with beef, pork or chicken.
