Chewy Granola Bars
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lightly packed light brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Flour||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Granola cereal||1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs)|
|Raisins||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flaked coconut||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Semisweet chocolate pieces||6 Ounce (1 Package Or 1 Cup)|
Line a 15-1/2" x 10-1/2" x 1 "jelly roll pan with aluminum foil; set aside.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixer bowl, cream butter or margarine, shortening, brown sugar, egg and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
Stir in cereal, raisins, coconut and chocolate pieces.
Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until done.
Cool in pan completely.
Invert pan and remove.
Peel off foil.
Cut into bars.
