Ragi Baby Food

Lets have a look on how to prepare ragi or finger millet for a baby's diet.
Ingredients
  Finger millet 1 Tablespoon
  Palm sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1.In a bowl, soak the finger millet in enough water for 4 hours.

MAKING
2.Grind it into a loose paste along with the water it was soaking in.
3.Filter the contents with a cloth or a strainer, and leave undisturbed for the next hour or so until water gets collected on top.
4.Drain the water alone in a separate container and discard.
5.In a sauce pan, drop the paste, add a little water and heat it.
6.Keep stirring, until the paste changes to a darker shade and bubbles start to appear on the surface to indicate that ragi is cooked. If not sure whether the ragi is cooked, dip your hand in water and lightly touch the surface taking care not to burn yourself. The paste will not stick to your hand if well cooked.
7.Season with a little salt and add the palm sugar or any sweetener of your choice.
8.Finally turn off heat and add milk if desired.
9.Adjust the consistency to your liking by adding the appropriate amount of liquid in it.

SERVING
10.Pour in a bowl and feed your baby right away.
