|Whole grouse||4 , skinned|
|Tart green apples||2 , peeled and diced|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Currants||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Whole wheat bread||1 Cup (16 tbs), diced|
|Shelled pinion nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Simmer apples in water until soft.
Mix with remaining ingredients.
Stuff grouse and secure legs.
Brush with melted margarine and place in oven cooking bags, two birds to a bag.
Bake 350°F.for 2 hours.
