  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄4 Pound
  Corn syrup 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon

Combine all ingredients and boil for 1 minute. Remove cake from oven and, while hot, pour glaze over cake. Cool completely. Frost with Orange Cream Cheese Frosting (below).
