|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Molasses||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Hot water||250 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
To measured flour add soda, spices and salt and sift together.
Cream shortening, add sugar, continuing to cream.
Add beaten egg and molasses; combine well.
Fold in sifted ingredients.
Add hot water; beat until smooth.
Bake in greased cake pan 35 minutes at 350F (180C).
