|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Molasses||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Hot water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
With electric mixer, cream butter and sugar.
Add egg, molasses and dry ingredients; blend well.
Add hot water and beat well.
Pour batter into greased and floured bread 'n cake bake pan and cover.
Bake covered in crock pot on high setting for 3 to 4 hours.
Do not check or remove cover until last hour of baking.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Unmold on cake rack.
