Soft Ginger Bread
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Molasses||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1 Teaspoon (Dissolved In 1 Cup Boiling Water)|
|Flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , well beaten|
Beat sugar and shortening.
Add molasses, baking soda and hot water.
Sift flour and spices and add to mixture.
Add the two well beaten eggs last.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out dry.
Serve hot with whipped cream.
