This special gingerbread is a scrumptious way to start off your day right. Throw in cinnamons and cloves to give it the spicy touch!
|Syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Pastry flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Ground ginger||1 Teaspoon|
|Soda bicarbonate||1 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Melted butter/Cooking oil||4 Tablespoon|
Add water to syrup and add dry ingredients well mixed and sifted.
Add shortening and beat well.
Fill baking tin and bake in a moder- ate oven.
If you want this a bit more spicy, add 1/2-tspn.
cinnamon and 1/4-tspn.
each of ground-cloves and nutmeg.
