Soft Gingerbread

Ingredients
  Molasses 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Ginger 1 Tablespoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
  Flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), melted
  Salt 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Mix dry ingredients, add remainder of ingredients and mix well.
Pour into well greased loaf pan and bake 45 minutes at 325°.
If baked in layers, bake 25 to 30 minutes at 375°.
Serve with whipped cream.
