|Packed brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), softened|
|All purpose flour||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Purchased decorator icing in tubes||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Cream sugar and butter; add egg.
Beat till light and fluffy.
Stir flour with spices and soda; add to creamed mixture.
Cover; chill dough about 2 hours.
On floured surface, roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut with a gingerbread man cutter.
Place on un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° till lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove to rack.
If desired, decorate with purchased decorator icing.
