|Dark molasses||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Of Your Choice)|
|Ground ginger||1 Teaspoon|
|Boiling water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|All-purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (Unsifted)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Hot water||2 Tablespoon|
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Lightly spray an 8-inch square baking pan with vegetable oil.
In a large bowl, blend together molasses, brown sugar, oil and spices.
Stir in boiling water.
Mix in flour.
In a small bowl, dissolve baking soda in 2 tablespoons hot water.
Stir to mix well and add to batter.
Bake in prepared pan 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and slice into twelve equal portions.
