Muster Day Gingerbread

Ingredients
  Lard 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Packed brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

In mixer bowl, cream lard and sugar till light.
Add molasses and egg; beat well.
Stir together flour, soda, salt, and spices; set aside.
Heat water in 1-cup glass measure at HIGH for 1 1/2 minutes or till boiling.
Add spice mixture to creamed mixture alternately with boiling water; beat after each addition.
Place small glass in center of 8x8x2-inch baking dish.
Pour batter into baking dish.
Cook at MEDIUM (5) for 5 minutes, giving dish quarter turns 3 times.
Cook at HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or till done.
Cool.
