Ginger pear crumble is a baked dessert made with gingered pears with gingersnap cookie crumbs. Flavored witj lemon juice and topped with a cherry, gingered pears are quite savory.
Fine gingersnap crumbs
1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted
Fresh pear/1-pound can pear halves drained
3 , halved pared and cored
Combine crumbs, brown sugar, salt, and butter.
Place half of mixture in bottom of buttered 8 1/4 x13/4 inch.round baking dish.
Top with pear halves, cut side up.
Sprinkle with lemon juice and remaining crumbs.
Bake in moderate oven (350Â°) 25 to 30 minutes or till pears are tender and top is crisp.
Center each pear half with a maraschino cherry.
Serve warm topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
