Soft Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
  Shortening 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten slightly
  Molasses 4 Teaspoon
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses and mix well. Combine dry ingredients and add, blending well. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet; bake 6 to 9 minutes. Cookies should be soft, so avoid over-cooking them and allowing them to dry out.
