|Ginger juice/2 teaspoon chopped ginger||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||1 Cup (16 tbs) (6 lemons)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
1. To two teaspoons of chopped ginger, add 1 cup of water, and grind to a smooth paste. Leave this in a cup for a while for the juice to settle down. Take the top portion only, discarding the sediment.
2. Add the sugar to the ginger juice, using some more water if necessary. Boil to a one-thread consistency, remove from fire, and cool thoroughly.
3. Add the lemon juice and food colour. Mix and bottle.
